The treatment of the dog I think is especially terrific

I really love the face on this cat

6 7/8” x 9 1/2” and in very good condition

I’m not an expert but think it might represent an American Oystercatcher with its bright yellow eyes and long beak

just nice wear and softening  to the blue paint

Perfect Object: Antique Cast Iron Two Pound Scale Weight sandwich box The treatment of the dogOne certainly comes across old scale weights, but I must say I don't think one has ever struck me as this one does to my eye just a perfect object, with just the right sort of "2" which somehow makes me think of carnivals and circuses and so too targets and strongmen and high striker games, etc. Cast iron, 19th c. I believe, with the rings stepped back toward the center. Perfect as a large and heavy paperweight now or a handy 2 lb. hand weight! 3 5 16
