I like to think they were best friends, who had this photo taken during a day of fun together on a seaside vacation one would think. It's a bit curious, then, that the reverse side is signed Ella and Bert and mailed from land locked Portland, Indiana! But, postmarked 1911, during the height of real photo postcard popularity when it was common to have postcards made
