Very Endearing Early Staffordshire Little Lamb eagle on branch Springtime always seems to putI've left this little Staffordshire lamb with its full patina on it; a soak might whiten it up some, but part of why I love it so much is that it looks it has lived quite a life, which certainly it has, dating to the 1840s or so. Wonderfully textural treatment of the wool, and wonderful little hand painted face, making this lamb look a a bit forlorn as it lounges on its little island, with a band of gold paint around the bottom perimeter.
